Pastor Roderick A. Blackman

Overseer

Pastors Alex & Kim Blackman

Pastor Alex was born and raised in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee to Floyd W. Simpson and Helen F. Blackman. He has five sisters; April, Renae, Crystal, Courtney, and Natasha.

Shortly after graduating from Lawrence County High School, Pastor Alex joined the United States Navy in October 1987. While serving in the Navy he earned an Associate’s Degree with honors in Criminal Justice from Harold Washington College of Chicago Illinois, Bachelors in Biblical Studies with Rochville University and a secondary Bachelor in Security Management with American Military University, Graduate Certificate in Christian Leadership and 9 credit from a MA in Ministries with Hope International University.

In January of 1990, he accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior and was shortly baptized in water and of the Spirit with evidence of speaking in tongues.

While assigned to the military ministry at Naval Air Station Sigonella, he was the Chairman of Deacons and June 18th, 1995 during a revival he heard the audible voice of the Lord say “Go ye therefore and teach all nations” Matthew 28:19. Shortly thereafter Bishop Jeffrey Askew licensed him as a minister in Christ.

From Sicily to Florida to Japan the Lord lead him and family to minister the Good News to various countries around the world. In April 1998, at the Naval Air Station Atsugi in Japan the Lord allowed him to begin a new work in the office of a Pastor. He worked in Japan and labored throughout South West Asia until he transferred to Naval Station Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.  In Cuba, the Lord lifted up a standard and allowed him to combine two services into one. A new church arose under the leadership of Pastor Alex and Elder Philbert Walker of Jamaica; this became an extension of Church of God the Bibleway and is currently under the pastorate of Elder Jeffrey Anderson of Jamaica.

His ministry is a worldwide outreach ministry.  On July 15th, 1999 the Lord gave him the name “God’s Perfecting Church of True Deliverance” for the purpose of seeing souls walk in a spirit of excellence and in accordance with the perfect Word (Apostles doctrine) of God.

His plans and intentions are to preach and teach the Gospel of Jesus Christ throughout the world. He has preached, provided counsel and performed baptisms in Jesus name to many culturally diversified citizens of the world.

In October 2007, Pastor Alex retired from the U.S. Navy with 20 years of Honorable service.

In November 2007, Pastor Alex was appointed as Foreign Missions Overseer for Church of God the Bibleway, Inc. located in Winter Haven, Florida. Overseer Blackman is currently working with ministries in Dominican Republic and Haiti.

Pastors Alex have been married for 30 years to Pastor Kimberly A. Blackman of Rochester, New York.  They have two wonderful children Roderick II (Alex) of Jacksonville, Florida and Anjelika Monae’ of Catania Sicily (Italy).

Pastor Alex believes that unity is the outcome of obedience and love in the Holy Ghost. So as we continue to grow in Christ, He will exalt us to various levels in him to build a dynamic multicultural church, through discipleship in accordance with the Apostle's Doctrine. His focus is healing, repairing, and delivering lives; then building, training and equipping them for their calling in the Godhead bodily. And finally awaiting the trumpet of God; for He is calling a “United People for His United Kingdom”.
